Five
days Training on Online Newspaper Archiving will be held at
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from 2nd to 6th December 2013. We would like
to invite two nominations from all the SAARC Member States for the
training. SDC will provide local hospitality, which includes free
accommodation, three meals, training kit, transportation to and from the
airport and from the guest house to the venue and back. Nominations
should reach us latest by 26th November 2013.

2nd Short Term Training on Information Technology for Information Managment
SAARC Documentation Centre (SDC) in-collaboration with National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources
(NISCAIR) jointly conducted twice a year Short Term Course on for Information Management from 16th September 2013 to 18th October 2013 at SDC, 14 Satsang Vihar Marg, New Delhi. Eighteen Participants from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka attended the training.

Fellowship in Research and Advanced Training (FRAT) 2013
FRAT was introduced to enhance the research capacity
of potential information scientists in & the
SAARC Region. The programme in aimed at particularly
those embarking on their research career,
and also to encourage them to foster cross cultural
linkages for collaborative work. The following
candidates from different Member States were selected
for FRAT 2013 session.

Short Term Training Programme on Office Automation
A Short Term Training Programme on Office Automation was held from 3rd
June 2013 to 5th July 2013. This is the first time that a course has
been conducted for persons working in the fields of administration and finance.
Thirteen Participants from the SAARC Member States like Bangladesh, Bhutan,
India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka had attended this training
programme.
