27th SAARC Charter Day



SAARC Documentation Centre (SDC) and SAARC Disaster Management Centre (SDMC) jointly celebrated the 27th SAARC Charter Day at SDC, 14 Satsang Vihar Marg, New Delhi.  The main objective of the celebration was to promote the activities and create awareness of SAARC especially amongst the younger generations. In order to commemorate the SAARC Charter Day SDC and SDMC decided to organize quiz, debate and essay competitions. The winners were awarded with certificates and cash prizes. Apart from the competitions, SDC also conducted five days training on ABCD a complete solution to libraries. Ten participants from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka attended the training.  Documentaries on School safety and what is SAARC was also screened to the gathering of hundred people comprising mainly of students, parents, SDC/SDMC staff and the invitees.
The function was presided over by Ms. Madhu Sethi, Representative of Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and Dr. Chandan Gosh, Head and Professor, National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi.
